  • Hello OVHS Families,

    Starting today, Monday June 8th -Wednesday June 24th, the registration helpline will be available from 8am-12pm. 619-661-0457.

    The office staff is currently verifying online registration documents. You will be contacted by phone or email if you’re missing information.

    If you have not enrolled your child for the 20-21 school year, please do so today. Important decisions are made based on projected enrollment numbers.

    Just a few reminders:
    Please make sure to use the same parent/guardian name that you used last year. You will be allowed to upload all documents that are required (please try to save documents as a PDF file). If you are on a computer the Chrome server works best when registering.

    Every parent must fill out these forms 1) Local Control Funding Form (LCFF) and 2) Verification of residency which are located on the SYSD website: https://www.sysdschools.org/Page/1085
    Note: The LCFF form does not need to be fiiled out to approve registration, but you will be asked to fill out in Fall if you do not fill it out during the summer.

    Hola Familias de OVHS: 
    A partir de hoy, lunes 8 de junio y miércoles 24 de junio, la línea de ayuda para la inscripción estará disponible de 8 am a 12 pm. 619-661-0457.     Dear Parents/Guardians:

     

    Since our school is closed due to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines need to be followed,  the kinder dual request process will be done the following way for OVHS school academic year 2020-2021. 

     

    Step 1: Please complete the online registration form. https://www.sysdschools.org/domain/740

    and upload all verification documents. The district’s website has step-by -step directions on how to enroll your new or returning child.

     

    Step 2: Please email your request for Dual Language Kinder to elizabeth.moreno@sysdschools.org  On the subject window please write Request for Kinder Dual Language.

     

    Your child’s request will only be placed on the list once your registration is complete. Parents will be notified of students placement by the end of July.

    Estimados padres / tutores:

     

    Dado que nuestra escuela está cerrada debido a COVID-19 y se deben seguir las pautas de distanciamiento social, el proceso de solicitud dual para kinder se realizará de la siguiente manera para el año académico escolar 2020-2021 de OVHS.

     

    Paso 1: complete el formulario de registro en línea. https://www.sysdschools.org/domain/740

    y subir todos los documentos de verificación. El sitio web del distrito tiene instrucciones paso a paso sobre cómo inscribir a su hijo nuevo o que regresa. 

     

    Paso 2: envíe su solicitud de Kinder Dual Language por correo electrónico a elizabeth.moreno@sysdschools.org.  En la ventana del asunto, escriba Request for Kinder Dual Language.

     

    La solicitud de su hijo solo se incluirá en la lista una vez que se complete su registro. Los padres serán notificados de la colocación de los estudiantes a fines de julio.

  • SCHOOL UNIFORM GUIDELINES

     

     School uniforms promote an environment of learning and help instill school pride. Use of appropriate attire enhances the educational process by emphasizing academics, achievement, and dignity. Complying with the uniform policy also allows school officials to better monitor a safe and secure school environment.

     

    • Uniform shirts will be navy blue, light blue or white polo/golf style shirts (short or long sleeves with a collar) or shirts that button down the front with a collar. No emblem, logo, decoration, or decorative trim.
    • Spirit shirt/club shirt may be worn on day/s determined by the school administrator.
    • Navy blue and khaki pants, skirts, shorts, skorts, or jumpers must be uniform style and color. 
    • Shorts and skorts must measure (front and back) no shorter than three inches above the knee and no longer than mid-knee. Skirts and jumpers must measure no shorter than three inches above the knee.
    • Belts should be black, brown, navy blue, or khaki with no emblem, logo or decoration and must be worn with slacks and shorts that are designed to have belt loops. Belts must be visible and worn around the waist. 
    • Belts are optional for pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade students.
    • Appropriate shoes must be worn and not include thongs. 
    • Sandals are not allowed

     

    Acceptable outerwear for classroom is limited to include:

      • Sweater, sweater vest, sweatshirt, and light jacket. During class time, jackets are to remain open, not zipped or buttoned. Colors for classroom outerwear include khaki, navy blue, gray, and white. 
      • Heavy coats and jackets worn to and from school and/or outdoors are not restricted, but recommended to colors of navy blue, white, khaki and hunter green.
      • No head wear shall be worn on campus

     

    The following items are not considered uniform:  blue jeans, sweatpants, no stretch pants or leggings, no spandex, no baggy pants, no bell-bottoms, no carpenter or cargo styles, no hip-huggers, no side-knee pockets). Emblems, logos, or decorations are not allowed.

    Principals may declare spirit or club days and allow students to wear school spirit shirts, or dress up days (i.e., when school pictures are scheduled) or allow students to wear other uniforms such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, cheerleaders, band, chorus, etc. Other questions about uniforms should be referred first to the school authorities, then to the central office staff.

     

    No student shall be denied attendance at school, penalized, or otherwise subject to disciplinary measures for failing to wear a school uniform.
