Welcome to Child Nutrition

  • Child Nutrition and the District Vision
Student Nutrition is a proud member of the education team at San Ysidro School district. We serve over 3700 meals per day, through the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program at no charge to our enrolled students. Parents are encouraged to support this program by allowing their children to participate in both school breakfast and lunch programs. Additionally, we serve over 400 snacks daily after school at all of our sites at no charge to our students. During the summer, we operate our summer meal program at no cost to enrolled students. The national school breakfast, and lunch along with our snack programs strive to ensure that all students have access to healthy meals at school that promote learning readiness and healthy eating behaviors. Students who are not hungry feel better, learn better and have a greater chance for academic success. As a partner in education, our support staff works diligently to provide nutritious food in a clean, safe and healthy environment. Additional information relating to menus, meal prices, the free lunch and breakfast program, and dietary requirements is found on our dedicated website which we encourage you to visit.
